White City Community Improvement Association
BINGO DOLLARS HELPING THE COMMUNITY
In November 1989, local residents and business owners wanted to improve the landscape and quality of life in Southern Oregon’s White City. As an unincorporated community, White City had been neglected in many ways. With a mission to help White City, residents came together and formed the White City Community Improvement Association.
Join us for our monthly board meetings, every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm at the hall.
As a vehicle for raising funds, WCCIA created Cascade Bingo and began hosting bingo sessions. As bingo play and funds increased, WCCIA was able to lease and eventually purchase the building they are currently in. Without a City Council or Mayor, WCCIA works hard to ensure White City is spoken for in Jackson County, this included lobbying for Urban Renewal dollars that greatly improved the community. WCCIA continues to fund many community events and outreach programs including shoes and clothing for youth, school activities, swim lessons, toy deliveries, family fun day and more. When Burns Park and the Library Park were constructed, no funding was allocated for monthly maintenance necessary to keep the park beautiful and in good repair, WCCIA stepped in and pays for this service.
Our non-profit organization sponsors different projects, groups and other programs that benefit White City and it’s residents.
The WCCIA built their organization, developed a board, completed strategic planning and established community-building efforts.
